Run Like a Girl: How Strong Women Make Happy Lives

A new project in progress… I’m working on a new book titled Run Like a Girl: How Strong Women Make Happy Lives.

It’s about how the confidence women build in sports translates into the rest of their lives. How the challenges they face by participating in a sport—and the way they meet those challenges—translates into greater strength and the ability to overcome the obstacles in their lives outside of sports; and how their achievements in sports translate into happy lives. A book that I hope will inspire women to do and be their best.

Like the lively conversation of a “girls’ night out” with old friends and new, the voices of girls and women will fill the pages of Run Like a Girl with the tough challenges they have faced, the obstacles overcome and the amazing lives they have built. I’ve already interviewed many women of all ages and levels, who have participated in a range of different sports—from running to field hockey, to tennis and skiing and yoga, and the list goes on. I’m weaving their stories together as I write the book.

I’m still looking for more athletic women to share their stories—do you have one? I’d love to hear from you. Email and I’ll send you the questionnaire for the book, focused around the different topic areas of each chapter. You can share your story anonymously or not, as you prefer.

In the meantime, I’m keeping a blog on women’s stories at http://mrunslikeagirl.blogspot.com and on Twitter as mRunsLikeAGirl
